| The chance to drive in Ontario province is ensured by a driver license. You should ascertain that you have it on you prior to driving. An Ontario province driver license is a plastic card with a digital photography of its holder which is signed by him or her. It also contains such information as name and surname, address, birth day, female/male information, height, date of driving license's issuance, its expiration date, special indications referring to the modes of transport that you are permitted to drive and several stipulations. Furthermore, modern driver's licenses have a magnetic strip that demonstrates the whole history of their owners' driving. There are two important requirements of driving in Ontario. First, a driver must be at the minimum 16 years old. Second, he or she has to be a holder of a proper Ontario driver license. On the whole, there are three kinds of drivers' permits in Ontario region: G1, G2 and G (also known as G-full).
Level One - Ontario Province Driver license G1
To begin practicing your driving you have to apply for Level One. Remember that you must be at the minimum sixteen years old. In Level One there are 6 important requirements that G1 drivers must remember:
- A G1 driver isn't permitted to drive on his own, he should always be with a professional driver with minimum 4 years' driving experience. This person is obliged to have a red bar with four white spots below his or her picture on his driving license. Besides, he or she must sit near the young driver on the front seat. What is also important, he or she should follow the rules of G licenses in the respect of alcohol content in the blood that must not exceed 0,05 per cent.
- An accompanying driver should be the only person staying near to you in the front seat.
- Alcohol is prohibited if you are going to drive. The alcohol content in the blood of the G1 driver must be equal to zero.
- Driving is allowed in the period of time from five a.m. till 12 a.m..
- The car driven by a young driver must not accommodate more passengers than it's determined by its technical features. Each passenger should fasten a seat belt in order to guarantee the safety during the trip.
- A G1 driver must not drive in the Ontario's "400-series" highways and high-speed expressways{ including| such as| such as the following:|, for example,|, for instance,| the Don Valley Parkway, the Gardiner Expressway, the Queen Elizabeth Way, the E.C. The Second Level - Ontario Driver's license G2
Obtaining a G2 driver license is generally preceded by completing an intensive driving course in Ontario. Level two will take you at least one year. A G2 driver gets a chance to drive at any time during day and night, as well as an opportunity to drive alone, without an accompanying G-full driver. One more advantage is the possibility to drive on any road in Ontario region. But nevertheless, there are 4 indispensable requirements for a G2 driver to remember:
- The alcohol content in the blood must be 0, which means that a G2 driver is not allowed to drink alcohol beverages if he or she is planning to drive.
- All the passengers in the car are obliged to fasten seat belts and the vehicle must not be overcrowded.
And there are two more conditions that should be taken into consideration only between midnight and 5 a.m.:
- A G2 driver may transport only 1 passenger aged 19 years old and younger during the first 6 months of the date of G2 license's issuance.
- After the termination of this period of time, a G2 driver is allowed to carry three or less passengers that are 19 years old or younger until he or she obtains a G-full driver's license or till he or she turns twenty.
Keep in mind that the last two conditions are not taken into consideration when a G2 driver is accompanied by a G-full driver whose driver's license includes a red bar with four white spots or when the passengers that are 19 or younger are the driver's immediate family.
The Third Level - Ontario Province Driver's license G-Full
The minimum period of time from the beginning of driving in the level one till the date of getting a G-full driver's permit is 20 months. To obtain full driving privileges a G2 driver has to pass a special examination that demonstrated the level of your driving abilities.
