Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American movie director and producer, as well as an actor. Howard first became renowned as an actor starring in the movies of 1960s and 1970s. Having quit acting, he has directed plenty of movies, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its sequel, Angels & Demons. The movie is based on the book written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code which made the world split into two groups - its supporters and opponents, inclusive of the Church. Even though The Da Vinci Code was forbidden in a lot of countries, a lot of viewers all over the world have watched the film. The movie Angels & Demons revives to show the rivalry between the Church and scientific knowledge depicted in The Da Vinci Code. The plot of the movie Angels & Demons concentrates on the desire of Harvard University historian and iconologist Robert Langdon to unveil the enigmas of a powerful secret society called the Illuminati. The Church, in particular the Vatican, faces a threat when the principal four cardinals to substitute the recently deceased Pope are taken hostage by the Illuminati that adhere to scientific truth. The Church is promised that each cardinal will be killed one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with an antimatter bomb that is to detonate under St Peter's Cathedral sharp at midnight destroying the sacred city. To deal with this terrifying jeopady, the Church calls upon the services of religious iconologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) who is knowledgeable about the secret society. He has to begin the investigation promptly, hasting to find the kidnapped cardinals by decoding symbols. Robert Langton together with physicist Vittoria tries to reveal the decease of the Pontiff and save the world. The images of Rome in the film are splendid and breathtaking. The viewer has an opportunity to walk around Rome and visit the most significant architectural and cultural masterworks together with the characters. The movie does well to involve interest through its explanations of historical events and the inside organisation of the Vatican. The plot keeps the viewer involved and interested till the very end of the movie. The plot unfolds with extraordinary twists and turns that leave the viewer excited.
