| Radio controlled trucks, or RC cars as they are generally referred to, are a good pastime both for children and adults. Their action is based on a system of remote control. Another kind of remote control cars is wire connection cars, but radio-controlled cars are much more popular. RC trucks are generally divided in 2 groups: toy version trucks designed for kids and hobby-grade version that is designated for juveniles and adult people.
These two variants of radio controlled trucks are different, but nevertheless have something in common. Both of them represent copies of real life cars and are controlled through radio control. But there are some distinctive differences between these two versions. Firstly, a toy version is a solid plastic representation of the vehicle while the hobby-grade variant is very close to a real-life car in relation to outward appearance and individual parts. The hobby-grade cars are constructed in the same manner as a real-life truck. What is more, this variant requires the same service and maintenance like you're the owner of a standard vehicle.
There are different methods of powering hobby-grade radio-controlled cars. They can be electrically, fuel or even nitro powered. Making a decision which one to choose isn't that easy. All the variants have their own pluses and minuses that should be carefully considered. For example, an electrically powered radio-controlled truck will be lighter that a fuel run one, but the first will be slower than the last one. Anyway, these cars are so intricate, that any enthusiast can transform his electric powered truck into a petrol one, or vice versa, with no particular efforts.
What is so special about hobby-grade radio-controlled trucks that draws attention of thousands of men of all ages to them? Basically, it is their intricacy. It is not a toy, it's actually a real car, but very small. What's more, these radio controlled trucks can be applied for racing and what man would refuse to be a racer? It's much more fun than computer games, that is the reason why RC cars are so attractive to adults.
Evidently, radio controlled cars are a lot of fun. But still do not forget that it will demand a lot of maintenance, repair and even upgrading. So this hobby is quite expensive, but it's a truly unforgettable experience. |
