People with schizophrenia commonly suffer from severe depressions and anxiety disorders. Schizophrenics have a much shorter lifespan than mentally healthy people. One of the reasons is a high rate of suicides among schizophrenics. Though it is not passed from a parent to a child, Schizophrenia tends to affect family members.
Alcohol addiction remains a common problem that requires specialist aid. Social problems, for instance unemployment, poverty and homelessness, are often recorded, too.
Psychiatry deals with mental disorders that are resulted from chemical imbalances in the brain. The way people think, percept the reality, their beliefs and a lot of other things form their psyche that may be severely challenged because of circumstances. A psychiatrist is to renew the affected balance through a specialist aid and prescription medicine. It requires a lot of effort and time to recover.
